This is such a nice, clean, fall scent! It is full of apples with a fresh kick to it.

This & That

Fresh and fruity scent but not overpowering. That's what Kalamazoo Candle does best gives a nice clean scent without too much.

No calorie dessert

I received this candle as a gift and it smells so delicious and expensive. It embodies fall in Michigan. It smells so delicious that I can almost taste the delicious pie in my mouth.

We are so glad that you love the Caramel Pecan Pie candle just as much as we do! It really is like a no calorie dessert! :) - Haley
Loved them, more than we could of expected

These were such a great gift, we absolutely recommend!

Thank you, Liam! We're so glad to hear that the custom label candles were such a big hit!
Free Flow Candle Making Session

My 11 year old son and I stopped into the store this morning and we both made our own candle. We had a great time! The instructor was very friendly and helpful and we had the whole store to ourselves. While waiting for our candles to cool, we had fun looking around the store. They have much more than just candles to look at. The store next door sells ice cream so we stopped in there to have a scoop while we waited for our candles. We will definitely go again :)

Thank you, Cindy! We're so glad to hear that you had such a wonderful candle making experience. We look forward to seeing you both again!

It often surprises people to hear that summer is when Kalamazoo Loaves & Fishes sees the highest need for food assistance. Almost half of Kalamazoo County students rely on free and reduced breakfast and lunch programs to meet their nutritional needs. For many kids, school meals may be the only food they receive each day.

Imagine how these kids are affected when the school doors close for the summer. That's when food assistance programs are most needed. Through their Food is Fuel campaign, KLF is working to ensure that Kalamazoo kids are fueled for success all summer long.

Here are a few reasons why this program is so important:

  • About 1 in 5 Kalamazoo County children are considered food insecure.
  • 48% of Kalamazoo County students are eligible for free/reduced school meal programs. That number jumps to 70% in some Kalamazoo Public Schools. This shows the tremendous impact that summer break can have on childhood hunger.
  • 40% of the food provided through KLF's  Grocery Pantry Program goes to children.
  • Infants and children without proper nutrition during crucial development periods are 2.5x more likely to have poor overall health 10-15 years later in life.
  • Among school-aged children, an association was found between food insecurity and impaired academic performance, increased hyperactivity, inattention, aggressive behavior, missing school, emotional problems, less adaptive interpersonal relations, self-control and approaches to learning, more internalizing and externalizing behaviors, and greater likelihood of having seen a psychologist.

For the next two weeks, Kalamazoo Candle Company will be increasing its contributions from 50% to 100% of each This & That sale

Swing by our shop in the Park Trades Center or shop online to purchase one of these unique candles that help to make our community a better place for everyone.
