Wax Removal For Easy DIY Potential

Wax Removal For Easy DIY Potential

We’ve succeeded in convincing you to repurpose your Kalamazoo Candle Co. jars, hooray! If you’ve ever spilled hot wax on clothing or… well… anywhere, you already know how impossible it can be to remove. With that in mind, it must be equally difficult to clear out the wax remnants and residue from your used up candle jars, right? No way! We’ve got you.

Here’s what you do. Now, pay attention because these are very detailed, complicated instructions. Boil water. That’s pretty much the gist of it! After your water comes to a boil, pour it (carefully) into the jar you’re looking to reuse, leaving a little bit of space at the top. The boiling water will melt off the rest of the wax sticking to the glass and, as the water cools, that wax will float to the top of the jar and reform into a solid state. Once the water/wax has cooled completely, remove that layer of hardened wax, dump the water, and wash the jar as you would any other dish!

We know this sounds far too simple to be true, but we promise it works like a charm. Gone are the days of scrubbing away at waxy buildup that never seems to dissipate completely. Farewell to the times of simply tossing out all those charming little jars that are crying out to your inner DIY sensibilities. Reusing and repurposing household items is a small step to a greener more eco-friendly lifestyle. The world (and your wallet) will thank you.
